simplier ways

i wish life could be as simple as black and white. ok not all the time but lately.

Monday, March 30

corona heights

basil's on the left i'm on the right, we're taking pictures of my amazing city with the sun setting behind us.

Sunday, March 29

oranges

this plant was climbing over this wall. the oranges felt like they about to fall but didn't want to because the fall was too far. so i leaned up against the wall and tried to capture suspense.

Saturday, March 28

little bit

little bit of you.
little bit of me.
little bit dead.
little bit alive.
little bit yellow.
little bit brown.
little bit here.

focusing issues

i'm not sure if i have just gotten used to seeing things out of focus or what but i love this picture! i love that most of leaves are blurry except the ones farthest away, kinda like the light at the end of the tunnel. what a beautiful day!

Wednesday, March 25

flowers to brighten your day!

sf windmill

this is the windmill in golden gate park on a beautiful san franciscan day. I can't remember ever getting this close to it in all of m 26 years in this city and after seeing it up close it seem a lot more powerful to me rather than the staple landmark in the park. so i was able to take pictures of it in a different way after.

Thursday, March 19

night with the fam

while i was taking the first picture my family was inside reminiscening of good old irish dancing days. i really like both pictures!

new blog look

ok so when I started this blog i did not intend it to be a photo blog but then that's what it became so i decided to change the look of the blog as to not take away from the photos i am posting. let me know if you hate it.

tonights sunset

I just was driving through my neighborhood and caught the lovely sun saying goodbye to the day. i love the change of color when day turns to night. catching that last bit of day blue sky before it turns to night blue sky is magical to me. honestly if i could have parked 15 minutes earlier these pictures would be filled with picks and oranges and yellows but i like this picture anyways.

kinda like silhouettes?

this picture was hard to capture how i saw it. but i really wanted the different colors of the branches to stand out to get the depths. i wanted the green leaves and the blue sky to be more of a backdrop than part of the pic. i'm still not sure this is what i was going for but i like what turned out. maybe i'll get digital and see how it look black and white but don't hold your breath.

Saturday, March 14

fav spot

this is one of my favorite spots ever. it's called muir beach overlook, it's on the way to stinson beach in marin county. It was a 15 min drive from where i lived a few years ago and found myself close to there the other day and just had to go over there. there's a little cliff which is what you're looking at and when you to the end of it you feel like you're at the tip of the world. it kinda feels like the famous titanic scene where leo and kate are at the front of the boat feeling the wind through their hair and the water under them. it's a very powerful feeling.

Friday, March 13

academys roof

i was able to spend the afternoon at the new (but i refuse to admit improved) academy of sciences. they have a terrific roof. it's a way green building with a it's own grassy knoll as a roof. it was cool how the circle filled roof let the sun shine through the many plants and aquarium exhibits. luckily a had my handy dandy point and shoot to capture these great shots.

Thursday, March 12

botinistic fun!

when i walking around the botanical gardens i stumbled upon these plants. which when looked at is just a bunch of growing plants with tags but i saw this spectacular texture.

Wednesday, March 11

view from the hills

well while i was venturing in the hills of berekely i saw a spectacular view that i just had to pull over and take a picture of. so after a few minutes of attempting parallel parking on a steep hill i eventually got out a took a few shots of the view with the golden gates, the bay and all of the east bay. but then I thought how typical and lame so i decided to take pictures of the the greenery with the bridge as a cool thing to find in the background. it's there i promise.

Tuesday, March 10

twigs over water

this was taken at the botanical gardens in tilden park at berekley. that place was spectacular! so organized and well labeled and fun/easy to walk around. i was so empressed with the landscaping there. i'll totally be back.

Monday, March 9

pulling golden gates

this is my favorite picture that i took yesterday. I was getting frustrated with all the people getting in my shots but really wanted a good even shot with the bridge and its shadow. so i had the shot vantage for me and waited with the ocean breeze testing with will but i waited for those peeps to move and when they did there was a freaking boat in the shadow so i waited some more. i took this shot and a few more but this is the coolest because it kinda looks like the boat is pulling the bridge by its shadow. moral of this story is.... it's really windy at fort point! burrrr

Sunday, March 8

under the bridge

this is one my favorite spots in my city. unfortunately it's closed to public a lot and when is open it's got loads of tourists which it makes it hard to take pictures without them. it's also super windy so i have to try and hold my camera real still so my shots are in focus. i love this city and the golden gates that make it unique.

Saturday, March 7

especially since i like trees.

so i have always thought that i was a lover of clouds and i'm not saying that i'm not but i have way more pictures of trees than clouds. i have specifically been trying to post cloud pictures the last few post and looking through my computer but keep finding these awesome tree pics. anyways i took this in stern grove a few years ago. i like pretending i'm an ant when i take these pictures to try and grasp the grandness of trees.

Friday, March 6

same pic... kinda

this was taken with my point and shoot a few christmases ago. I was walking along embarcadero center and saw this beautiful red leafed tree. so i grabbed my handy camera and shot away. it was a newer camera so i played around with the options and came up with these two similar shots!

Thursday, March 5

my dock

this is one of favoritest places from my childhood. spring lake in santa rosa. and these are my favoritist photos i have taken there. shot with black and white film developed cheaply at walgreens making it look more sepia than black and white, then scanned giving it bad edges but i still like them.

Wednesday, March 4

old redwoods or some simular type of tree

i found this photo while i was pretty pathetically trying to organize my photos in my computer. I not 100% sure but i think this was taken on the old 101. My mom took me along there on the way home from a eureka trip once a few years ago. it pretty amazing being surrounded by so many huge red wood trees and this photo gives that small feeling.

Tuesday, March 3

wearing glasses in the rain

The other day i was driving and it started to drizzle. It then started to rain. Then my sister being a round the bush back seat driver asked if i didn't use my windshield wipers because i wear glasses and is used to rain drops on them when it rains. it is true i do not use my wipers mostly because i like watching the rain drops race in which ever directions not because of my sisters glasses theory. anyways was playing around i took this picture and thought of that story so i wanted to share how i see on a rainy day.

Monday, March 2

santa cruz!

santa cruz ca on a rainy day! beautiful! ok so i still don't really know what i'm doing with my camera but some this shots are still cool. it was super windy and about to rain so not much light and reall hard to hold my camera still but i had lots of fun and will go back soon with my owners manuel so i can figure this camera out! (thanks to my friends for their patience while i was taking all these shots!)
