claude in flowers

In front of the white building with the flowers in side in golden gate park they always make flower arrangements that are pretty cool. This one is in the shape of claude the albino alligator from the academy of science. i stopped by and took this picture and claude is just awesome and these flowers are pretty rad too.

(This post is for Becky on her birthday)

B E A utiful

taken in pacifica a few days ago. I love this dock. i used to go there all the time when i lived closer. I pretty cool to walk out on it and have the waves curl under you and break right there. It's as close as I've ever been to surfing and I can see how addicting that sport could be.

oh sweet textures

Grr I need to learn how to operate this device because this would be a sweeeet black and white. I mean it's sweet now but just imagine the dramatic change the lack of color could bring!

just a visit

I took this at my dads grave site. I don't go there very much because I don't believe there is any value to the spot where a dead body is left. I believe the dead live on through the living they have influenced. So seeing my dad in my family is just as good if not better than going to a grassy field with random flowers and other stone blocks everywhere. I go back every few years just so I don't forget where it is. I ended up there the other day and happened to have my camera so I clicked a few and this is the one I like the most.

oh sunsets

I was able to catch the sunsetting in pacifica last night. The clouds are so dramatic and the sun is sharp. I wish I could have hung out longer but it was so windy and my little sweatshirt could only do its job for so long.

wires n clouds

if the wires can't be removed to get the picture they must be apart of the picture! I guess that's just the mentality I'll have to choose

sittin

I like this view from behind (reminder I like people's backs) They were some the lucky few that were on a stage with chairs and got to enjoy the parade a little more us commoners forced into each other in the crowd. It was grandparents and a child; a cute bonding moment.

cherry blossom parade

Today was a frickin hot day for us san franciscans! I am a sunset girl and will take the fog over sun any day so today all I wanted to do was stay in my apartment and hide from those bright rays. However that would mean i'd have clean my apartment which I guess I hate that more than being in the sun. For some reason I decided to check out the cherry blossom parade even though I've always said I didn't want to go because there are too many people. So I ventured down to Japan town and walked preppy side of filmore and into Jtown. Holy moly was I right about the crowds of people and it was hot! I decided to do a little walk around and pushed my through snapping pictures if there was ever a space between heads and a good shot to take. It took me two hours to walk three blocks down and back and I was sweating almost as much as after one of my bikram yoga classes. I am not totally enthralled with any of the pictures I took but truly feel I worked hard for each shot captured so much so that I actually wrote all this down so everyone can know what a bitch it was for me to do. I can just hear my mom's voice saying "you must really love it" I'll post more pitures later...

newspaper stands like city buildings

I like the shadows in this pic. They remind of a city skyscape or whatever that's called with sizes of buildings lining up. I had a few drinks at this time and it was at night so I'm happy that it's a little in focus and the truck driving by is real cool.

down but not out

I like this daisy. It's all alone and has been stepped on and it's petals are mangled but it's still living. I have to remember that there's lives out there that I have it a lot harder than me and this daisy is just another reminder.

buddies hiking

this is in ojai which is near santa paula which in southern california. those are lifelong buddies; hiking a trail (well at this moment there happen to be trail but there wasn't a trail the whole time). the hills are pretty and are kinda simular to the heights of the amigos.

dead and alive what more can i say

ok so the list of my favorite things to capture in a picture are (in no order):

clouds
textures
backs of people
skys through trees
ocean
dead and alive plants!!!

i'll take this path

I'm not sure what I'm doing nowadays. It's kinda fraking me out because I've never known where i'd go but always where I was and now I'm not sure of either. As I was browsing through my photos for todays blog selection this one popped out at me. At first all I saw was the fenced in path on a cliff and I thought how perfect for me like living on the edge but still safe. Then I saw that you can see the end off in the distance and the ocean like the white light shining guilding to the right way. So I thought well sure i'll take that path but how can i translate that into my reality?
